Must Watch: Full Trailer for D.J. Carusos Eagle Eye!

We are everywhere. If you saw Indiana Jones back in May, you got just a quick tease of Eagle Eye. Now here we go again! This full trailer picks up right where that one left one and it doesn't stop. This looks absolutely amazing. Incredibly unique action, a mysterious storyline, and Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan working together. This already looks like the big sleeper hit of the fall, but I'm sure by the time it comes out we'll all be talking about it anyway. The best part about this trailer is it introduces you to the film from nothing - you don't need to the know the story, because it's such an great tease that by the end I'm anxious to know what the heck is going on! Check this out - you do not want to miss it!

this game is totally awsome this is what fans of the series have been asking for this is the best power rangers game ever it takes the snes era of gameplay creates a origanal storyline and thrusts you in for a ride sadly however the most populer and beloved power ranger isnt in thats tommy im speaking of

ArchLord

ArchLord can be summed up with two words: "dull" and "repetitive." Unfortunately, this game doesn't have anything to offer massively multiplayer veterans, and if you've been playing these games for a while, there's a good chance you've already found something better than this.

Like other games of this sort, ArchLord lets you create a single character to adventure in a persistent world, fighting monsters and performing quests to gain experience levels and in-game wealth to upgrade your character's items and abilities by purchasing new weapons and armor or new magic spells to cast. Yes, ArchLord is a fantasy-themed game, but it looks and sounds generic. The environments are bland, the character models look rough and blurry and offer hardly any customization options, and the game doesn't sound that great.

You can play as a character from one of three races--orcs, elves, or humans--and play as such professions as hunter or sorcerer. No matter what choice you make, you'll always end up wandering off into the world to find monsters, pounding on them until they die or your character dies. And you keep doing this until you gain an experience level. Then, you go back and do the same thing again, eventually against stronger enemies, but hopefully you're high enough in level to purchase a slightly bigger stick to beat enemies with. If you were making sweeping generalizations, you could arguably make this kind of criticism about most massively multiplayer games to date, but in ArchLord, this boring hack-and-slash combat really is the focus of the game, and it's so bad, you'll notice. Your character's individual power doesn't scale well against monsters, so you'll need to either sit and rest or run back to town for more healing and magic potions more frequently over time, unless you "farm" lower-level monsters that pose little challenge. Considering how many recent games have introduced much more lenient combat systems with minimal downtime, the grind seems outdated as well as tiresome.

i would say it is the best in a pool or snooker simulation. nice graphics and nice ball reflections. its a good game. quite addictive. i wonder why the choice for cues and balls are not working sometimes when installed but shows only one variety in each. would appreciate if some one would help find a solution for this issue. would make it more interesting. its become a family game. you should try this game and let the older generation try this too. you can surely keep them occupied i bet. easy to understand and doesn't take much time to get the hang of it. thanks for this game. good.

Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness

One of the most successful video game series of all time returns from a hiatus with Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. This latest adventure starring modern-day adventuress Lara Croft sends her to Paris, Prague, and a number of dangerous, ancient, subterranean catacombs. As before, Lara will need to run, jump, climb, shoot, and think her way through various trials and tribulations, and certain death often lies at the bottom of a long drop that is just one miscalculated step away from where she needs to be. In development for years, this new Tomb Raider was intended as a reinvention of the series, with a darker edge and all-new gameplay elements. That is indeed the case, but unfortunately, it's easy to tell that Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, despite all the time spent in the making, shipped before it was completely finished. Much like in the just-released PlayStation 2 version, numerous glitches, some superficial and some serious, as well as a cumbersome and often frustrating control scheme seriously hurt this game, making it considerably less enjoyable than it could have been. Nevertheless, hard-core Tomb Raider fans and other particularly patient players should be able to overlook some of these flaws and enjoy this new installment for its engaging storyline, death-defying action sequences, and impressive locations.

The original SWAT game, released in 1995, was Daryl F. Gates' Police Quest: SWAT. Named after the former Los Angeles Police Chief who formed the world's first SWAT team, the original SWAT and its sequel were actually strategy games. It wasn't until SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle was released in 1999 that the series transitioned into the first-person-shooter genre. It's been more than five years since the last SWAT, and the newest iteration of the series is the best one yet, offering an intelligent and flexible interface, a varied and highly replayable campaign, as well as multiplayer modes that include cooperative play.


As with the real-life SWAT teams, your job as an element commander in SWAT 4 is to take your five-man team into dangerous situations and defuse them. These situations range from a botched jewelry heist to high-risk arrest warrants to a raid on an illegal casino. In almost every mission, there are innocent civilians mixed in with the bad guys. Those of you who are Rainbow Six and Counter-Strike veterans will need to cool it on your itchy trigger fingers. Even when you do run into armed criminals, you don't have carte blanche to shoot them immediately. You have to follow the same strict rules of engagement as a real police officer and do whatever you can to subdue and arrest suspects without lethal force. Your guns are meant to be a last resort and should only be used if an armed suspect is an immediate threat to your team or civilians. This is the primary detail that separates the SWAT games from the military-style action games. The rules of engagement add a good deal of difficulty to the game, and SWAT 4 pulls this off well. At the end of each mission you're graded on how well you did, and more points are awarded for arresting as opposed to killing suspects. You are assessed big point penalties for improper use of force, and for the most part, these penalties are levied fairly and intuitively

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

If you're looking to play this year's Pro Evolution Soccer, you could do worse than check out the PC version. Judged on its own merits, it stacks up well against the console equivalents by looking sharp and playing well, especially if you have a couple of Xbox 360 joypads. However, compared to other sports games, Pro Evolution Soccer is struggling to keep up with the times. The presentation is unpolished, with poor online functionality, mediocre commentary, and few officially licensed teams. More importantly, practically no new features have been added to last year's game while the online gameplay is buggy with frequent lag and disconnection problems. Ultimately, PES 2008 plays a great game of football, but it's starting to seriously fall behind its contemporaries in terms of features.

If you're a newcomer to the series, you'll be impressed at how well Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 plays. It captures the realism of the sport almost perfectly but, most importantly, it also remains eminently playable. Thanks to a combination of exquisite control, superb animation, and worthy artificial intelligence, it's highly replayable in single-player, but it really comes into its own in multiplayer. With that said, series veterans may wonder what exactly Konami has done to improve the gameplay in the past year. Aside from making minor tweaks to the animation and AI, it's fundamentally unchanged from Pro Evolution Soccer 6.

The biggest upgrade to the game is supposedly the new Teamvision artificial intelligence system, although its claims to revolutionise the playing experience prove to be overstated. Computer-controlled opponents are slightly more intelligent when it comes to changing playing styles, although defenders still feel a little bit superhuman in their ability to resist attack. Overall, the game feels more fluid than last year, but rather than feeling revolutionary, the improvement just feels like a return to the earlier glory of the series. In fact, the immediate changes feel so minor that even hardcore fans of the series will have trouble picking them out. The ball feels slightly weightier and players move with more physicality. They also tussle with each other more, pulling shirts and out-muscling each other over the ball. It adds up to a more natural-feeling game this year where you can still play an accomplished game of football

Next-gen developments for FIFA 08 by Joe Booth, Lead Producer

Today I have asked gameplay designer and software engineer, Gary Paterson, to speak in the diary. When he’s not following Aberdeen, celebrating Scotland’s World Cup Win (the homeless World Cup that is), finding the latest Leeds United negative story to rub in my face, or reliving every detail of Scotland’s one win over England, Gary is busy tweaking the shooting and the details of our game engine. Seriously, Gary is going to give you some insight into our new shooting mechanics and some of the changes that we have made to the fundamental depth of the game. What has been really encouraging for me about the way our new shooting module has developed is the sense of unpredictability that it creates. Because of the new way players strike the ball you never get the same shot twice. So if you go in the arena and fire shots off at the net, you are never sure if the ball is going to dip down under the bar or rise over the bar or swerve in on the side or not. That creates a sense of drama that’s there from the real world. Previously in football engines the shooting mechanics have been too predictable and I think our new model for FIFA 08 creates this authentic sense of unpredictability.

The other thing I really like about the shooting mechanics is the feedback from the animations. There are all these different contexts and factors going on, so if you are off balance the player may still kick the ball but you will see him stumble afterwards, and so it’s this kind of feedback that you now get to know that you did not quite connect with the ball. That makes more sense to me than if the ball just flying off and you don’t understand why. I’ll let Gary go into more detail here.
